Places we’ve been.
Our travel history began in Japan in 2013. We’ve kept exploring since, and we’re now taking a family sabbatical in Canada. Here are the countries we’ve visited, with stories and guides added as we write them.
Canada
Our current chapter, with Brisbane still home. We started our family sabbatical in February 2026 and spent about six months based in Canmore, exploring the Rockies and making shorter trips away. Our first published pieces cover the lakes and Lake Louise Resort.
Czechia
Prague was one of our stops during the larger European trip across 2023–24. We’re recording it here as part of our travel history; our detailed story and practical notes will follow once we’ve put that part of the trip together.
Fiji
Fiji was part of our travels across 2021–22. We’ll add the details of that trip when we’ve gathered our photographs and memories. For now, this is its place in our travel history.
France
We first visited France in 2015 and returned during our larger European adventure across 2023–24. The individual places and experiences will get their own stories as we work through our travel history.
Germany
Germany was part of our European adventure across 2023–24. This page records that visit while we prepare the specific memories and photographs for a fuller account.
Japan
Japan was our first trip together in 2013, and we kept returning through 2026. Here are photographs from a four-week visit around Osaka and Tokyo, a Yokohama museum guide and the practical route plans we would use for another trip.
Spain
Spain was one of the countries we visited during our larger European trip across 2023–24. We’ll add the individual stories and practical details as we document that journey.
Switzerland
Switzerland was part of our European travels across 2023–24. This is a record of that visit, with the detailed journal still to come as we gather the photographs and memories from the trip.
Thailand
Thailand was part of our travels across 2021–22. We’ll write the full account once we’ve put together the actual route and photographs. We haven’t attached an itinerary or a budget to an unrecorded route.
United Arab Emirates
Dubai was our stop in the United Arab Emirates in 2015. We’ll keep that visit distinct from later trips when we add the journal and practical notes.
